Our Purpose: The Canadian arm of Oikocredit (an international microfinance organization) wanted to leverage the cross country tour of its seasoned Western Africa representative, Mariam Dao Gabala, to press.
Our Approach: Honing in on Responsible Investment Week 2014, which kicked off in Toronto, Brix identified Ms. Gabala’s area of expertise on debunking the myths of responsible investing. Positioning her as an engaging thought leader in the space, we leveraged her expertise in women empowerment and her work with the Cocovico Cooperative in the Ivory Coast.
Our Impact: Over a three-month engagement period, Oikocredit Canada appeared in various trade publications including SEEChange, SocialFinance.ca. and About.com. Ms. Gabala’s speaking engagements in Toronto, Vancouver, and Victoria were all well attended, and additional resources were used to help strengthen Oikocredit Canada’s social media training program for volunteers.
